The par 4 11th hole at Wachesaw East is affectionately named “Pines” and for good reason.  The entire left side of the hole is lined with pine trees!  That provides an intimidating look off the tee for sure.  At just 356 yards from the white tees, it is not the length that makes this hole a challenge, it is the narrowness of the landing area off the tee and the water that lies short and right of the tee box and the first part of the fairway.

Standing on the 1tth tee golfers have a decision to make.  Play a tee ball down the left-hand side of the fairway and test the tree line or take a more aggressive line that takes the ball down the right side which requires the player to line up hitting over the water that is short and right of the fairway.  This is a much braver shot but put the tee shot in the proper side of the fairway to attack the green on the second shot.

Golfers will have a short iron in their hand for the second shot.  They need to make sure they have the proper club in their hand.  The green is 33 yards deep and all the trouble is to the right side of the green.  Five greenside bunkers await to eat up wayward approaches.  Take a look and hit to the dead center of the green is the best way to play this hole.

Ths size and shape of the putting surface can provide problems if golfers find themselves on the wrong side of the green.  The golfers that can walk away from the putting surface and write a par down on their scorecard they have done a fine job on this hole.
